With a dynamic vision for growth, we are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as Safety and Fleet Officer in which you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our employees, fleet, and facilities.
Responsibilities
Develop and Implement health and safety plans.
Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments, including regular job site visits and spot checks to ensure Osprey Electric policies are being followed/implemented properly.
Follow up on all corrective action items noted during inspections.
Actively promote health and safety awareness.
Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, and local regulations, including Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements.
Conduct safety training and education programs and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.
Manage and maintain accurate OH&S records.
Provide input on Osprey Electric's safety goals to establish a strong safety culture.
Supervising safety courses.
Manage WorkSafe BC claims.
Liaise with WorkSafe BC and other regulatory authorities to promote safety on each job site.
Investigate accidents, identify their causes, and find ways to prevent them in the future.
Prepare and present safety reports for management.
Lead the investigation into incidents in the workplace including analysis and recommendations.
Ensure a safety orientation is completed for workers and visitors new to the job sites.
Oversee fleet safety protocols, including vehicle inspections, maintenance, and accident reporting.
Other tasks assigned by Osprey Electric management.
Must be able to visit and move around project sites, which may involve climbing ladders, navigating uneven terrain, and carrying light loads.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a similar role in the electrical construction industry
In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in British Columbia
Excellent communication (verbal and writing) and training skills
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
First Aid Level 3
Valid Class 5 Driver’s license
Experience controlling sensitive and private information
Very strong organization, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
WHMIS, CSO Certification
Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
